Foot-traffic intelligence for downtown businesses
Pulse is a small, discreet sensor that mounts above your entrance. It counts every person who walks in and out in real time, forecasts your busiest hours, and puts your business on the live downtown map that customers already use.
Limited installation slots each month · Application required
How it works
Tell us about your business. We review each application to make sure Pulse is a fit for your space, your hours, and your customer volume.
Our team mounts the sensor above your main entrance and plugs it into a nearby outlet. No electrician, no drilling, no rewiring — fifteen minutes and we're gone.
Your business appears on the live downtown map the same day. Your business dashboard opens with live occupancy, demand forecasts, and hourly patterns.
Installation
The sensor is small enough to disappear above your door frame. It runs on a standard wall outlet — the same kind your point-of-sale uses — with a thin cable that hides inside a paintable trim channel. No visible wiring. No landlord permission for standard storefront installs.
The device
Pulse doesn't record video. It doesn't capture faces. It doesn't identify individuals. It counts every person who crosses the threshold, in each direction, and nothing else. No information about any specific customer is ever stored, sent, or seen.

We install a limited number of sensors each month and review each application to make sure Pulse is a good fit for your space and goals. Expect a response within two business days.
Common questions
No. The sensor is not a camera. It uses a beam-based counting technology that measures when a person crosses the threshold of your doorway and in which direction. No image, video, or biometric information is ever captured, stored, or transmitted.
In typical single-entrance storefronts, accuracy exceeds 98% over the course of a day. Extremely wide doorways or unusual foot-traffic patterns (very large groups walking abreast) can slightly reduce accuracy, which we account for during install.
The sensor pauses cleanly during a power outage and resumes automatically when power returns. Brief WiFi drops are handled by local buffering, so no counting data is lost during short outages.
Yes. Your business's occupancy data belongs to you. Pulse uses aggregated, anonymized data to power the public consumer map and peer benchmarks, but never sells or shares any individual business's raw data.
Yes. Annual plans are prepaid; if you cancel mid-year we prorate a refund and retrieve the sensor at our expense.
We install a limited number of sensors each month and want to make sure Pulse is a good fit for your space and your goals before we commit installation time. Our current focus is walkable downtowns in Virginia small cities, and we prioritize businesses in those areas.
Not at this time. The sensor and the software are designed to work together, and our installation, warranty, and replacement guarantees depend on the ongoing relationship. If you have a specific need that falls outside our standard offer, contact us and we'll discuss.
